I'm back at home again after two whole days of resting and three whole nights of sleeping. It was fabulous and I cannot recommend it enough.
One thing I do suggest, if you are a mom taking time out, is to give yourself permission to take time out. Permission to rest when you want to rest, to read if you want to read and to not do anything more taxing that having two hot baths in one day.
I found my time away was great for purely that fact, I gave myself permission to not do anything(except raid the mini bar fridge every so often and why not, all those little bottles were just sitting looking pretty and needed an excuse to get out) and to not feel guilty about not doing anything. Its amazing how the guilt can so easily inch its way into the mind. But, my gates stayed firmly locked against it. I feel much better for having broken away from the everyday routine, for having long lazy mornings and early nights, for reading as much as I wanted to in a single sitting and for enjoying every single minute. One warning though, it will be extremely quiet. And for those of us who have forgotten the meaning of the word, it does come as a bit of a shock!
As for other news, I have finished watching Gossip Girl Season II and I feel somewhat lost.(I have formed a rather unhealthy fondness for the Manhattans Elite and the final of season two had me cheering for the two characters, eventually!) One forgets how much drama can be created in life...anyhoo, I know, it is rather sad but at least I have Season III to look forward to;-)
On that note, I leave you all on this slow Sunday, we've had a good one which included some really good food (as well as a toasted cheese saarmie on white bread - oh so indulgent- we love it!) and more on the way and then sleep before the Monday arrives.
Lets hope the sun decides to come out and play, I can feel a beach outing itching to get scratched.
