Snuggle up with a good book

The thing about this blogging lark , is that one has to blog regularly.

I Love second hand book shops!
I love finding second hand book shops which are filled to the rafters with novels and non fiction alike. What I especially love about second hand book shops is the prices.

I found myself in a one a couple of days ago, searching for a present for my niece who is turning 11. She is an avid book reader, def takes after our side of the family as both myself and her mother are both book fiends. I wanted to get her the series by Philip Pullman but alas, she has already read them. So there I was, in the kiddies section of said book shop(not the most largest section in the shop, I'm sorry to say, as I am a huge fan of children's books) trying to find something that looked appealing and possibly, something that I had read. Now, if any of you have actually gone into a book shop with a burgeoning one year old, a one year old that is very steady on her feet, already an avid book fan and curious to boot, you will know that trying to find a book, while keeping an eye on said one year old is not the most easiest task in the world. Bean was having a most wonderful time, wandering around the maze of bookshelves, playing peek a boo with other customers and of course, babbling at top volume the entire time. The thing about bookshelves, is that, "look mom, I can reach this book" and the next one and the next one and so it goes... She had a pile of books in the entire time it took me to find the books for my niece. Isnt that typical? I was very pleased with the books I found, 'Lionboy' and 'The Chase' by Zizou Cordor which I have read and are very good books. Full of adventure and excitement and I do believe my niece will enjoy them! Now, I just need to get them wrapped and packaged so I can post them to her!

I also managed to find myself a book to read, 'The glass books of the dream eaters' and even though I am already a quarter way through said book, they havent given the entire story line away yet, and I am still hooked! Will keep you posted as to how good a book this one is once I finish it.

So, at the end of my shopping trip, which only lasted 30 minutes, I am seriously getting better at this shopping in a short space of time business!, I had 3 books which altogether cost me a mere one hundred and thirty raands. Bonus of note! Bean was ready for her sleep after running riot in the bookshop, and That is why we love second hand book shops!

I am always looking for a good book to read, I'm afraid that this one will be finished within the next few days(its weekend so I get some 'baby free' time) and if any of you have some recommendations, I would appreciate the feedback. How about giving me the name of two books, one you adored , and one you hated?

Come on, that should get me sorted book wise for at least a month!
