First attempt

I found this blog post by Chatting at the Sky which really resonated with me. In fact, I think any one who has a particular dream and is too afraid of it to give it a go, should read it.

I have a dream. I want to write a novel. To be honest, I have started many times, and have a few beginnings hidden away in my computer. But I always think, I can't do it. Ever since I decided to stop writing - about 10 years ago now- I just haven't had the balls to try again. To actually do anything with it, to attempt getting out of my comfort zone and begin feeling things again. Hiding behind the numbness is much easier. You know how it goes. But after reading Chatting at the Sky, it spoke to my spirit. Spirit who is always there, waiting patiently in the shadows to be allowed to shine.

And so, I have decided to start again. To write. To attempt to do what I really want to do. And stop scuffing around the edges. And to stop hiding behind excuses, behind photographs and behind bullet points.

This is my first attempt.
