Advice please!

OK, so I need some advice please.

I have been approached by a Pilate's instructor, who I did Pilate's with when I was pregnant, to open a branch of her business in the northern suburbs(where I live).

It is Pilate's for pregnant and post-natal woman with a nanny option for the post natal ladies. I really like the idea as it really made a huge difference in my life having the regular classes and then once Bean was born, I had somewhere to go for me time and not be worried about finding a baby sitter. Because as most of you who are moms know, that is one of the most difficult things of having a child. Not being able to do something for lack of a baby sitter.

This is what I am aiming to do anyway, to offer these options and eventually have my own studio, with various bits and pieces to make it more than just a Pilate's studio. Anyway, so now I need to decide whether I should start off with her offer - which includes a fee for training and a regular fee to her each month for 5 years. She has a client database which means that there are ready made clients.

My first thought was that five years is a long time and anything can happen in that time so am not feeling particular positive about that, the next possible con was that with the regular fee that I would pay each month, I could save that for five years and have a little nest egg.

I am also wondering why I should do it this way, rather than just start my own business as it is what I want to do in the long run and am just not sure if this is taking the long way round.

So, I would really appreciate some advice from those of you more in the know for making business decisions.
What factors do I need to take into consideration and make the right decision?

Don't know that much about business!
Go with your gut! Do what you always wanted to do!
Good luck with the decision-making.

I have no idea, but it does not sounds like the benefits are huge vs paying the monthly.

Don't like the sound of it. Why 5 years? Blimin long time.

You would quite easily be able to build up your own client base - yes it would take longer but the rewards would be greater as you would not be paying her. And why do you need training? You've just qualified and have done a pregnancy course?

The only thing is that you will need to et your a into g asap because if you don't accept her offer, someone else may do and then you'll be without the potential clients.

I wouldn't do it tho.

I think it depends on what your personal goals are and whether you have done some planning ie. immediate plan, medium term plan and long term plan. If you think you can get your own studio up and running better within 5 years vs. taking the offer and being in it for 5 years.
