Would you believe that this is post no 129? Let's see if I can make it a good one!
Mondays are my favourite days and they are especially my favourite once holidays are over. It means that life returns to normal. It means that The Man goes to work and Bean and I are on our own. It means that there is some alone time for me (when Bean sleeps) and it means that there are things to do again. Like visiting friends and shopping and libraries and all sorts of things. And it means that work will eventually get busy again.
This Monday has also brought with it the idea of doing the Project 365. I wont be doing it in the scrap booking style, but I do like the idea of one photo a day documenting the year. so, I'm going to give it a go as best I can. Maybe this way I will get into actually making my photo albums.
I have also decided to do a journal this year. I haven't written in a journal for years (purely because after doing a clean out one year, and reading some of the things I had written down in my notebooks, scared the bejeesus out of me- I mean, what on earth was I thinking?) and realised that if I keep one more thing buried deep inside me, I may just explode. So, I plan to get myself a lovely A4 book and do some writing. Add pictures and my dreams and hopes and who knows, I may enjoy it. This, together with the 365 should be the perfect start to getting back in touch with my creative side, which has been left languishing for much too long.
One last thing which I have decided to do, is focus on a word for the year. I know that many other people do it, but I discovered this reading challenge which to me, is a great way of combining the two. My word with books. The word that I have chosen for this year, is LAUGHTER because for far too long now, I haven't done enough of it. I have become 'miss serious pot' and my humour buttons are hardly ever pressed. So, this is the year of smiling and giggling and having full on belly laughs. Any recommendations of books that could tickle my funny bone?
Shoo, I guess this post sounds a bit like a new years resolutions post. It isn't really. Its just more of a becoming aware of my insides again and taking life by the balls, instead of being taken by life.

Laughter is a good word. I needed that this morning. I feel like it is only 4 days into the new year and I'm already behind.
I think the 365 project sounds fantastic.
There is a guy who did a 100pictures in 100 days of his dinner and breakfast which facinates me.

Isn't it interesting how we "see" people. my mental image of you is you on the swing at your sister's this holiday - being silly and laughing.
Its a great picture. I hope life gives you lots more of those moment ;-)
Laughter is a lovely word to choose, now you have to choose to LIVE it.
I would love to do a review on the one book I am reading...will let you have it once it done.
xoxo
I must say that this is the reason I like to go back to work on a monday and not some other arb day of the week.
I am doing the 365 photo a day challenge!
I think you've chosen well. The word, the project and the journal. I remember one of my wise bosses saying to me the best time to journal is early morning when your thoughts are fresh. So try this - as Bean is up early anyway.
Am going to look at the reading challenge.
Need something to motivate me this year.
Saw some lovely stripey/dotty and checked journals at Game today whilst doing the school stationery shop.
Love you lots. xxx
Hope you do do the 365 :) And good luck with that journal
Happy new year poppit!
Hmmm, I really enjoy the Terry Pratchett books, especially his Discworld series. On the surface they look a bit like kids books, with simple stories, but once you get into them you'll see they are so much more. And always good for a laugh! Although you can read them in any order, I'd suggest starting with the "Colour of Magic" and "The Light Fantastic" (in that order) and go from there! Enjoy!
What a cool word to pick :)
And I love the idea of writing in a Journal, I've never done that before...I may just give it a go too!
The pic idea is a really good idea, I take tons of pics though...all of Raiden of course he he he ;) I really want to try and do some scrap booking this year of him..just need to get the time and motivation!
I'll keep a eye out for some belly laughing books for you :)
