This morning I trundled off to Pick n Pay to purchase milk for Bean.
Milk in hand, I decided to peruse the chocolate shelf, after having a rather restless and semi sleepless night with very bizarre dreams, I was in need of a sugary pick me up. At 8.30 in the morning no less...
So, I was debating buying a slab of Lindt (they have the most awesome flavours at the moment) but was put off by the price bracket and considering I had limited funds on me (I was only supposed to be buying milk) it wasn't the most logical choice.
Then out of the corner of my eye, I spied Beacon slabs winking at me (normally I am a chocolate snob and only 'do' the real stuff) but the wrappers looked so sparkly I had to investigate further.
There were a couple of new flavours, and one of them was a cappuccino flavour with biscuit but I couldn't quite bring myself to buy the Beacon (that is one brand of chocolate I'm not a complete fan of). Instead I carried on the perusal of the shelf.
Hidden behind some random display on the under eye level shelf I noticed a new Cadbury Slab - coconut and cashew, which sounded interesting and tasty, but wasn't quite what I was in the mood for, I needed sugary sugar chocolate! On the next shelf up, there it was, hidden behind the same random display. Cadbury caramelised pecan and fudge. Mmm hmm, that was it, I was smitten by the name. The thought of the pecans and fudge had me in a small state of chocolate bliss and I rapidly took one from its hiding place.
I paid for my purchases and before I was even out of the door, I had opened the shiny wrapper, with its crinkly noises as I broke off a square. Popped it into my by now salivating taste buds and revelled in the flavour that was fudge and chocolate. Truly decadent (especially at 8.30am) and enjoyed another 5 more squares before putting it away.
I then had a look on the Internet to see if I could find a picture of the wrapper for all other chocolate lovers out there and instead I found this article written all about the Cadbury flavours with a competition thrown in.
I thought it was quite interesting that South Africans are considered adventurous regarding trying new flavours!
So, if youre looking for a new chocolate to try out, this one is pretty damn tasty!

Love this post! Im still waiting for a marzipan and dark chocolate cadbury one. :o)
Loved the cranberry and peacan one that came last Christmas, was hoping Id see that again this year but it doesnt look like it.
I also saw the one with the wafer roll in the centre and couldnt bring myself to buy it as it was made by Beacon (also not a fan)
My all time favourite are the Lindt balls (the red and blue ones)
Grin
I LOVE chocolate...but mostly the dark ones. I read an article today and it appears that dark chocolate is good for your health..so I might just become as big as a house...but I will be a healthy house:)
Sounds like it's a flavour that I have to try too.
Maya, I so hear you on the lindt balls, Im a sucker for the red ones!
Lynette, indeed a healthy house, I like that:-)
Jeanette, you must try it, I have to admit, that I finished the slab all by myself, no sharing at all...
oooh yes that coconut and cashew one is definately a weakness for me!
Yummy.
Have tried it too and it's delish.
Altho with all the baking i've been doing - today i bypased the choc aisle altogether - don't want to see or smell it anytime soon (well until i have to start baking again this week - more orders!) xxx
am missing you.
I'm a complete chocoholic and have tried EVERYTHING on the market. I love trying new flavours and I'm like you, I'm NOT a fan of Beacon or Nestlé (they tastes like wax to me) but Cadbury's is a completely different kettle of awesomeness.
Must go the shops today to investigate.
Oh geez...now I need chocolate....
And yesterday, I bought the coconut and cashew one, just as delicious, especially if you are a fan of coconut. If not, Id stay away from that one.
I LOVE the coconut and cashew but I can never find it. I discovered awhile ago and became quite hooked. Strangely I like Beacon and Nestle, Cadbury normally makes my eyes water - I know just a bit crazy thats me.
The spelling is paid, not payed.
i also love the coconut and cashew why can't we find any
