The Book Club Blog

The start of a new week!

Bean is teething and grumpy and has been dispatched with her nanny for a walk in the pram (thank goodness it isn't raining!) and I am about to leave for work. Hehe, how weird to say that! Then tomorrow begins the Pilate's course I have been waffling on and on about, and then next week, I am going on my very own little holiday:-)

But before any of that occurs, I would like to invite you to visit The Book Club Blog.

I am a great lover of books and I really enjoy finding 'a great read'! Something that tickles that insatiable bookish part of me, be it fantasy, real life, poetry, as long as the words penetrate, or whisk me away I am happy. For that reason I have always wanted to join a book club, as it gives one an opportunity to discover those books from others recommendations and to share ones opinions about the books that one has read. There is something special about finding someone who shares your love of a particular author or particular book.

But alas, due to recently having relocated to a new suburb, I have not, as yet, managed to find or begin a book club. Hence my idea to have an online book club. In that way, all the joys of sharing treasures and talking about them can still occur, even if it is 'virtual'.

After chatting to Shayne to find out whether this was in fact a good idea (and not just one of the million great ideas that I have at the fatal midnight hour while not being able to sleep) she agreed with me and so the idea was officially taken from a one persons midnight light bulb moment to a two person very possible outcome.

After chatting to The Man as to which would be the best route to go with it, we have our own official little site called The Book Club Blog. The Man has helped us with figuring out how on earth to use Wordpress and though we are still learning, I'm sure the rest of it will come in leaps and bounds.

We would like this to become an online community of book lovers, to share your loves and hates of books you have read. If you would like to become a member of this blog, please let either Shayne or myself know, but if you prefer to stay on the outskirts, we do have a facility where your reviews can be submitted.

We are starting slow and small but we have huge ideas for this little project so we welcome you on our journey and hope you enjoy it too.

See you at Book club!

I think it's a brilliant idea, I wish you all teh best.
Once it's going, maybe speak to Exclusive Books or Kalahari, and have a link to them like you can with Amazon (if you sign up as an affiliate, you can earn money from people that buy the books from direct links from your site)

Thanks Jeanette!
We have a link with Kalahari at the moment (so one will be able to buy books off our site via them, yay!)but will look into the Exclusive Books link too, thanks for the idea:-)

My knowledge of authors are so outdated...it is going to be great to get to know about a few more authors and books.
